The herb appears club-shaped and slightly flattened, ranging from light brown to reddish-brown in color. Each spike consists of multiple layers of persistent calyxes and bracts, with fine white hairs on the outer surface. The texture is lightweight with a mild herbal aroma and subtle taste. Products with larger spikes and deeper purple-brown color are generally considered higher quality.
